Southampton, The 1865

The 1865 is an independent events venue in Southampton rapidly developing a reputation for presenting quality music and Southampton’s finest PA system. This 750 capacity venue has hosted bands including The Levellers, Morcheeba, Creeper, The View and Delays. The flexibility of the layout of the room to a 300 seated theatre means the venue has held intimate shows with Steve Howe of ‘Yes’, Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy and the legendary Mud Morganfield.

Previously known as the Southampton Docker’s Sports & Social Club, The 1865 was founded in 2014 by local entrepreneur Paul Hooper. In early 2016, the management of Southampton’s The Talking Heads venue was offered control of the venue. The combined force of both venues brought new networking opportunities…

The Talking Heads venue sadly closed at the beginning of October, meaning their promotion and marketing team now focus purely on The 1865. Developing stronger relationships with outside promoters such as Kilimanjaro, One Inch Badge, Live Nation, ESDR (Eat Sleep Drag Repeat) etc. The in house booking and marketing team have been jumping hurdles to provide live entertainment across Southampton. Covering all aspects of live music, comedy, club nights etc.
