Northampton, The Roadmender

We have provided Northampton with a cultural focal point ever since 1934, when Earl Spencer opened The Roadmender Club’s original venue, a disused factory in Lawrence Street. Through decades of change, inside and outside our walls, Roadmender’s mission has remained the same. Live music came to The Roadmender in earnest at the start of the 80s. From the rehearsal rooms of legendary goth pioneers Bauhaus onto what has since become Northamptonshire primary live stage, music gradually became the main focus of the social activities at the venue.
