Leeds, Wire

Wire is one of Britain’s premier underground venues, pushing quality electronic music in an intimate and friendly environment.

Our 300 capacity basement, accessed via an unassuming entrance on Call Lane in Leeds city centre, is powered by a full Funktion One Soundsystem and fully stocked with a selection of the finest imported bottled beers and spirits.

The club is home to some of Leeds’ longest running and most revered club nights such as Pearson Sound’s Acetate, Butter Side Up, Overflow, Sub Dub, Deep Medi, One Night With and Fuzzy Logic.

Unfortunately due to the nature and vagaries of the premises – in the basement of an old building – access is only via a very steep flight of stairs down from street level and there is just no extra room allowing us to build any form of disabled access we’re afraid. Unfortunately there is also no space to create a disabled toilet too sadly. We do sincerely apologise for this, but due to the actual space itself, there is nothing we can do about this, as there’s just no room to create the facilities.

It is however be possible for helpers/friends to carry wheelchairs down and back up the stairs – City Council Fire Regulations advise that for this to be permissible, wheelchair users would have to be accompanied by able assistants (who we are more than happy to provide a maximum of two free tickets for) who will remain with them at all times, and be prepared to carry the chair plus the individual down and back up the stairs in case of emergency evacuation.
