Blakey Ridge, The Lion Inn

The Lion Inn has been a cult venue since the 1970s. It first came to prominence through the residency of the legendary Back Door, a Jazz group formed on nearby Teesside. They ran weekly nights at the Lion, which attracted musicians from all over the North East, including the world famous Sting.

The venue went without regular music for years post 70s but were restarted just before the millennium by Paul Crossland & Pete Bell and has been once more been established as a prestigious place to play as a musician, and attend as a punter.
