Hemelvaart Bier Café, High Street, Ayton, TD14 5QL | Venue Cap. 100 | Website

Hemelvaart Bier Café is a quirky, intimate live music and comedy venue right on the Scottish Border in the village of Ayton. Just off the A1 it is ideally located between Newcastle and Edinburgh with the nearest train station being Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Many incredible acts have performed here including Prides, Broken Witt Rebels, Seafret, Skinny Living, Slow Readers Club, Hunter and the Bear, Cattle & Cane, King No-One, Gary Delaney, Sara Pascoe, Ellie Taylor, Justin Moorhouse, Zoe Lyons, Iain Stirling, Gary Meikle and Hal Cruttenden. Hemelvaart is also a world craft beer haven, featured on Buzzfeed’s top ‘Places to Drink Beer in the UK’, The Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and Cheers North East. They specialise in small independents rather than huge global brands so there’s a real opportunity to try something new here. There is also food served all of the time they are open. The capacity is only around 100 so gigs here are intimate and special.
